Gloria F. Meyer, 87, of Metropolis, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Meyer retired from Joppa-Maple Grove School System, where she worked as secretary/bookkeeper for over 30 years. She also had previously been the secretary for the Cache River Drainage District and the Massac County Ration Board during World War II. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, John Michael Meyer of Metropolis; two nieces; and one cousin, Erma Corzine of Metropolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlet Franklin and Mary Caroline Brenningmeyer Robinett; her husband, Jesse E. Meyer; one sister, Bonnie Belle Robinett; and two brothers, Arlet Edward Robinett and Thelbert Franklin Robinett.

Funeral service was held Thursday at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Pete Ryan officiating.

Burial followed at IOOF Cemetery in Joppa. Pallbearers will be Tommy Wilke, Randy Wilke, Billy Wilke, David Wilke, Ray Wilke and Walter Eime.
