When a fire broke out on May 12 at Upper Salem Baptist Church and destroyed the building, church members from Weaver Creek Baptist Church were there that Saturday night and an offer was made to the Upper Salem congregation to come worship with the Weaver Creek congregation.

Upper Salem Baptist Church's Interim Pastor Paul McCormick said that is exactly what happened. The following day - May 13 - the members from Upper Salem were at Weaver Creek worshipping with them during the Mother's Day service.

"The Lord brought us together the next day," said Weaver Creek Baptist Church Pastor Shawn Vandergriff.
