The boys rebounded from their first loss of the season at the Marion Invitational as they beat Anna and St.Mary in a triangular meet and then made a bit of MCHS history as they beat St.Mary again on their home course of Country Club of Paducah earlier this month.
In the first win over the Vikings, 143-150, the Pats were led by Drake Stepter and Mitchell Stegman with a pair of 35s. Jon Duley came in with a 36 and Zach Burnham was close on their heels with a 37. Luke Wieneke snuck in under 40 with a 39 also.
In the rematch at Paducah, the Pats came away with a six stroke win as they recorded a 162 against the Vikings 168.
Playing on a more difficult layout, the scores were inflated a little but the end result was still a win. A historic one at that. Dalton Korte returned to form to lead the Pats with a 38. Stepter shot 40, Stegman shot 43, and Burnham turned in a 40 also.
The girls followed a couple of wins in conference play with a fine showing at Swansea, Illinois in the Illinois-Missouri Challenge tournament on Saturday.
