Donald D. Hooks, 76, of Dover, Tenn., formerly of Metropolis, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Hooks was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Hooks Barger of Pascagoula, Miss.; four sons, Steven Hooks of Dover, James Hooks of Texas, Heath H. Hooks of Nashville, Ill. and Michael R. Hooks of Carbondale; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wilma McCoy of Dover, and Wanda Giller of Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Mattie Hooks of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louisa Skinner Hooks; two sisters, Geraldine Choate and Judy Hicks; and three brothers, Roger Hooks, Dennis R. Hooks and Glenn Hooks.

Funeral service was held Monday at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis with Elder Walter McCoy and Pastor Doug Terry officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Rosebud.
