Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Metropolis with Bro. William Schierbaum officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Sterling Church Cemetery in Brookport.
Lane Wolfe was loved by so many. He was an honor student at Massac County High School, star football player and an avid outdoorsman. He loved our Lord, Jesus Christ, and prayed unselfishly. He was a great father, son, grandson, nephew, cousin and brother. He lived life to the fullest, and he will be missed very dearly by all that knew and loved him. We love you Lane! — your family.
Lane is survived by his son, Benjerman Alexander Wolfe of Metropolis; his father, Daniel Wolfe and his wife Beth of Metropolis; his mother, DeAnna Pierce and her husband Brad of Metropolis; four sisters, Charle-Jo Wheeler, Stephanie Cary and Lillian Pierce, all of Metropolis, and Cheyenne Souders of Lancaster, Pa.; his paternal grandparents, Steve and Gayla Wolfe of Hillerman and Marilyn Gallagher of Metropolis; his maternal grandparents, Buddy and Sherry Hall of Metropolis; his paternal great-grandparents, Wally and Millie Wolfe of Metropolis; his stepgrandparents, Michael and Denise Coe of Pennsylvania; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lawrence Stewart; his paternal great-grandparents, Troy and Ada Owens; his maternal great-grandparents, Kay Catherine and Jack Stewart; and his stepgrandfather, Frank Douglas Cary.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the church.
