Margaret “Mac” Johnson, 95, of Metropolis, formerly of Ullin, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Dec. 28, 1916 in Ullin, Mrs. Johnson graduated from Ullin High School in 1931 and spent most of her life operating Porky’s Restaurant in Ullin with her husband. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Metropolis.

Survivors include her daughter, Yvonne Rath of Metropolis; one son, L.E. Johnson of Lafayette, La.; six grandchildren, Kathleen Loss and husband Gary and Karla Brooker and husband Marty, all of Fairfield, Greg Johnson and wife Suzanne of Canton, Mich., Richard Johnson of Eaton, Ohio, Eric Douglas and wife Lia of Schaumburg and Courtney Ledbetter of Metropolis; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon “Porky” Johnson; her parents, Richard and Sophia Stodacher Echols; two sons, Gordon “Buckshot” Johnson and Kay Lewis Johnson; one great-grandson, Matthew Vaughn; and two sisters, Eva White and Helen Kennedy.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin with Father Chris Mujule officiating. Burial followed at New Hope Cemetery.
