With the loss of three potential starters, due to disciplinary action, Massac County basketball coach Joe Hosman knew this season was going to be tough, very tough, for a variety of reasons.
“It was the right thing to do, the only thing to do, (the dismissal of the three player) under these circumstances,” said Hosman.
But after a re-visiting of the chalkboard and some circling of the wagons, the 2012-13 basketball season got underway Monday night at Vienna in the Turkey Tournment.
Massac County got the tournament rolling with a 72-37 shellacking of the Carrier Mills Wildcats.
