Clara Louise Kerley, 79, of Vienna, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at her home.

Born May 5, 1933 in Johnson County, Mrs. Kerley had worked as an in-home health care provider and had formerly been employed at the Good Luck Glove Factory in Vienna.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Amvets.

Survivors include one son, Rodger Kerley and wife Barb of Grantsburg; two daughters, Mary Wright and husband Thomas of the Flatwoods community and Linda Joliff and husband Gary of Altamont; her grandchildren, Thomas Ray Kerley and Erin Elizabeth Kerley of Grantsburg, James Dale Omohundro of Vienna, Robert and Kelsey Dale of Carbondale, Chris and Shannon Smith of the Flatwoods community, Charles and Tracy Wright of Karnak, Angel and Jason Churchill of Arcola, Megan and Nic Huddleston of Yale, Andrea Joliff-Joergens and Dusty Joergens of Dietrich and Michael Lee Joliff, Joe and Jamie Joliff and Becky Joliff, all of Altamont; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Holt of Grantsburg and Rhudell Batey of Vienna; one brother, Carlos Baker of Simpson; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Lewis and Mary Kerley Baker; her husband of 56 years, Thomas Dale Kerley; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Evie May Smith; two brothers, Elmer Baker and Ray Baker; and one sister, Eva Mendize.

Funeral service was held Friday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna with Mrs. Kerley’s nephew, Rev. Deon Newton, officiating. Burial followed at Kerley Cemetery in the Flatwoods community.
