Owner Larry Ward, left, with assistance from Joshua Dycus, center, and Taylon Gower moved the seats into the building in mid-November. Dating to the theater’s late 1930s’ beginnings, the seats were last used in a Presbyterian church. — Planet photo by Terra Temple
Ward, the manager of Adventures of Superman actress Noel Neill, became the owner of the 74-year-old building in January. His goal is to preserve the theater by turning it into something the entire community can enjoy by giving it three primary functions: rentable office space, public restrooms and a theater featuring a working stage and a movie screen.
Ward’s first step in the renovation was cleaning the theater of trees and debris. Shortly afterwards, a new roof was placed on the building.
