Elsie Mae McBride Davis, 94, of Metropolis, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.
Elsie was born in Samoth on Dec. 27, 1917 to Aytch and Maggie Staton McBride. She was married on Dec. 15, 1945 to Carl “Bunny” Davis, and they were married for over 45 years.
Elsie was employed by Good Luck Glove Co. in Metropolis most of her life. She also loved helping her husband Carl on their farm. Later on, they sold the farm and moved to Metropolis in 1977.
Elsie was a member of Metropolis First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her brother, Russell McBride and wife Maxine of New Columbia; five nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; six great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother, Edward McBride and wife Gladys.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Joe Buchanan and Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial followed at the IOOF Cemetery in Metropolis.
