A memorial service will held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with Rev. Steve Heisner officiating.
Born April 1, 1932 in Ullin, Mr. Beggs was a United States Navy veteran. He worked over 40 years as a barber in Springfield. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Widebeck of Dawson; two grandsons, Jonathan Barber of Springfield and Eric Hull of Indiana; one great-grandson, Ian Barber of Springfield; and one brother, William Beggs of Ullin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Lucille Staton Beggs; two sisters; and two brothers.
Visitation will be Friday, from 10 a.m. until the service time.
