Gertrude V.O. Crim. 98, of Metropolis, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.

Miss Crim was a member of Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was founder of the Christian Youth Organization and vice president of the cemetery committee. She was a graduate of West Kentucky Vocational School, where she studied tailoring.

Survivors include two sisters, Charlotta Crim and Mary Harvey, both of Metropolis; 11 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John and Mary Crim; her siblings, Alice Porter, Sylvada Smith, Lizzie Crim, Millie Crim, Iona Crim, Geneva Folden, Johnnie Lynch and her twin brother, Ontrue Crim; four nieces, Dorothy Offutt, Muriel Roseburr, Joyce Turner and Shirley Phillips; and one nephew, Donald Phillips.

Funeral service was held Saturday at Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Metropolis with Pastor Mark Chapman and Minister Steve Robinson officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Massie Funeral Home in Mounds was in charge of the arrangements.
