Massac County’s high school bowling teams haven’t reached that upper echelon of competitiveness yet, but the progress over the last couple of years is definable.
Massac’s boys team has put together a 3-9 record this year and a couple of their losses have been close.
The girls haven’t had quite the success of the boys, record-wise, but the girls have had a couple of sure ‘nuff close calls on the loss side.

Each school puts a five man team on the lane for three games.
Total pinfall can run from around 1800 pins to upwards of 3000 pins.
The girls have lost two matches this year by totals of 31 pins and a heartbreaker to Carterville, that was decided by one pin.
