Herrin started off quickly in Friday night’s contest, claiming a 7-2 lead before a Dalton Mitchell three pointer cut the lead to 7-5.
A Lukens bucket gave Herrin a 9-6 edge until Nickerson canned his first three ball of the night for a 9 all tie.
A nice exchange between Austin Kendall and Ethan Schulte ended with a Schulte bucket and a 13-9 first quarter Massac lead.
Massac tried to pull away with a 15-10 second quarter behind a Mitchell onslaught. Mitchell accounted for 10 of Massac’s 15 second quarter points.
