Evelyn Barger, 86, of Metropolis, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at her son’s home.

Mrs. Barger was a member of First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Barger and wife Debbie of Brookport, William Barger of Lone Oak, Ky. and Gary Barger and wife Arcel of Paducah; seven grandchildren, Charlie Barger of Metropolis, Jake Barger of Nashville, Tenn. and Jason Barger, Miranda Barger, John Barger, Zechariah Barger and Garielle Bless Barger, all of Paducah; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Clutts of Lawrenceville and William Paul Clutts of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Della Staton Clutts; one son, James Jacob Barger; and two sisters, Mary Ann Perdew and Helen Rick.

Funeral service was held Monday at First United Methodist Church in Metropolis with Rev. Jeff Bealmear officiating.

Burial followed at Pell Cemetery near Brookport. Pallbearers were Charlie, Jason, Jake, John and Zechariah Barger and Mark Souders. Honorary pallbearers were George Giltner and Alan Young.

Miller Funeral Home of Metropolis was in charge of arrangements.
