Lydia Lou Canada, 77, of Ann Arbor, Mich., formerly of Karnak, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at Arbor Hospice Residence.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Community Crossroads Baptist Church, located at 2580 Packard Road in Ann Arbor.

Born Jan. 12, 1936 in Karnak, Mrs. Canada moved to Ann Arbor in 1955 where she was employed at Hoover Ball Bearing and worked as a bank teller before she was the office manager for the Packard Community Clinic. She was also a former employee of Nie Family Funeral Home in Ann Arbor.

Mrs. Canada was a member of Crossroads Community Baptist Church since 1955.

Survivors include one daughter, Beth Hamlet and husband Mike; three grandchildren, Derek Wanshon and wife Liz, Joshua Langley and Hannah Langley; four great-grandchildren; her mother, Clara Jones Sielbeck; one sister, Eleanor Fern Winter and husband Joe; one nephew, Todd Winter and wife Suzanne; two grand-nieces; one grand-nephew; and two cousins, Betty Brewer and Shirley Rottmann, both of Massac County.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William “Bill” Dale Canada; and her father, Clarence Sielbeck.

Visitation will be held from from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
