Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Belknap Masonic Cemetery with Pastor Steve Heisner officiating.
Born May 24, 1921 in Belknap, Mrs. Wood was a homemaker and served as an election judge for many years. She was a former member of the Johnson County Republican Women’s Club and had served on the Senior Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the Shawnee Development Council. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vienna, where she had sang in the church choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Sue Crews and husband Bill of Vienna and Myra Wood-Bennett and husband Frank of the New Columbia community; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Ruth George of Vienna; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. and Yuba H. Burnam; and her husband, Wilburn A. Wood.
