Mary Louise Rehlmeyer, 91, of Metropolis, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis with Todd Sumner officiating. Music will be provided by Karol Schmidt.

Burial will follow at Round Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stefan Rehlmeyer, Brad Rehlmeyer, Natalie Harris, Everett Purcell, Junior Lang and Todd Sumner.

Mrs. Rehlmeyer had worked as a seamstress at Normandy Frocks and was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Metropolis, Women of ELCA, had delivered Meals on Wheels and volunteered at COPE Food Pantry and Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

She is survived by her son, Fred Rehlmeyer and wife Debbie of Metropolis; one grandson, Brad Rehlmeyer and wife Shannon of Metropolis; one stepgranddaughter, Kimberly Lang and husband Junior of Metropolis; three great-grandchildren, Stefan Dru Rehlmeyer, Logan Lang and Bryn Aubin Rehlmeyer, all of Metropolis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Hattie Rodenberg Laird; her husband, Albert M. Rehlmeyer; four sisters, Mae Miller, Ruby Kommer, Aline Gowins and Velma Sumner; and three brothers, Roy Laird, Loren Laird and Paul Laird.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
