Sophomores Leilani Hill and Emily Hoard were Massac County’s only representatives at the IHSA Girls State Track and Field Meet held last weekend at O’Brien Stadium in Charleston.

Hoard, who has proven to be a force in the triple jump, actually competed in the long jump at state.

Hoard broke the old school record with a jump of 17’4” to qualify for the Charleston meet but failed to make it to the final round at state by a mere 2 inches.
