Carolyn Rose Stoker, 76, of Urbana, formerly of Metropolis, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Rev. Don LaBrot officiating. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.

Carolyn was a lifelong member of Lighthouse Assembly of God of Metropolis and attended Happy Hearts in Metropolis. She was employed at Good Luck Glove Factory for several years.

Mrs. Stoker’s early interests included bowling, softball and music. She loved God, her family and friends.

In 2010, Mrs. Stoker relocated to Urbana to be near her son after suffering a stroke. She resided at Champaign County Nursing Home until her death.

Her family is thankful for those three special years, where she was able to enjoy family meals and gatherings and welcome two new great-grandchildren during that time.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Cliff (Krisy) Stoker of Philo; six grandchildren, Sarah (David) Crain of Lawrenceville, Ga., Leah (Ben) Wenger of Champaign, Rebekah (Josh) Thomas of Grapevine, Texas, Josiah Stoker of Mill River, N.C. and Kate Stoker and Austin Stoker, both of Philo; five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Faith and Rose Willoughby and Cohen and Claire Wenger; one sister, Betty (Art) Bunch of Lone Oak; two nephews; and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, H. Glenn and Effie Heflin Halcom; her husband of over 47 years, Ronald Stoker; and her brother, Paul Halcom.
