County supports proposed surgical center

ners will be give written support to a proposed orthopedic same day surgery center, which a private company intends to build and open in Massac County.

Commission Chair Jayson Farmer said he was informed about the project from Metropolis Mayor Billy McDaniel. According to a legal notice from the Illinois Heath Facilities and Services Review Board, the project is estimated to cost $5,851,606 and will be established at 2776 North Avenue.

County Clerk John Taylor told the board the company would receive five years of tax break incentives because of being located in the enterprise zone.

Right now the company intending to build the Massac County Surgery Center is trying to get licensed through the state of Illinois in order to proceed with construction of the center.
