For new head coach John Warren, the losing streak was one. For a whole bunch of young men on the Massac County football team, it was a lot longer. Despite a valiant effort against Freeburg, Massac County still entered Friday night’s game at Charleston on a losing streak. So much for that!

Massac slapped the Trojans silly in the first quarter and went on to an impressive 45-26 rout of a good football team. The Trojans had racked up a lofty 20-4 record, playoffs included, over the last two years and were, no doubt, the favorites going into Friday’s game. But somebody forgot to tell that to a hungry Patriot team.
