Tom E. LaVeau, 87, of Metropolis, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Metropolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tom Emmerson officiating.

Born on April 17, 1926, Mr. LaVeau worked at his family’s plumbing business and was a member of the Plumbers-Pipefitters Local 160. He was a past alderman for the City of Metropolis for several years.

Survivors include one son, John LaVeau and wife Janet of Metropolis; two grandchildren, Macy and Hayden Laveau; his sister-in-law, Mary LaVeau; and one nephew, Greg LaVeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis F. and Florence Baker LaVeau; his wife, Bess Isoline LaVeau; and one brother, Louis LaVeau.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.

Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
