Joppa’s Rangers got their first win of the year Saturday afternoon at the Crab Orchard tournament.

After blowout losses to host Crab Orchard and Hardin County and tough losses to Elverado and Pope County, and some soul searching after those losses, the Rangers ended the round robin tournament with a win over Dongola. Host school Crab Orchard won the tournament.

Tyler Castleman scored the 1000th point of his Rangers career en route to a 38-point performance in the win over Dongola.

Michael Sparks added 21 in the Rangers’ win.

Meanwhile, the Lady Rangers, who have struggled as well in getting a win under their belt, took the measure of the Lady Demons from Dongola in a tournament at Cairo.
