Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 11 at noon at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home in Paducah with Rev. Michael Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery of Metropolis.
Mr. Riley was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Metropolis and a graduate of Metropolis Community High School. He was employed with SAF Industries in Dumas and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Riley of Lewisville, Texas; two sons, Hillary Riley Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Charles Allen of Metropolis; two daughters, LaTonya Smith of Clute, Texas and Tolesha Riley of Paducah; eight grandchildren; five brothers, Virgil Eunice Riley of Unionville, Cameron Riley of Columbia, Mo., James Riley and Clemar Lee Riley, both of Metropolis, and Edgar Lee Burns of Vincent, Ind.; seven sisters, Sharon Ann Goodman, Brenda Faye Meadows, Emma Louise Riley, Mary M. Riley and Margaret Ann Bradford, all of Metropolis, and Eunice Riley and Geraldine Turner, both of East St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ben Riley Sr.; his mother Alma Lee Riley; his stepfather, Eunice Lassiter; one brother; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home, located at 1229 Madison St.
