Late Tuesday evening, McCracken County Sheriff's Department released the name of the missing man as Dustin Allen Burnham, 27, of Metropolis.
Emergency rescue workers from Kentucky and Illinois have responded to the call near mile marker 952. According to Joe Miller, Massac County Emergency Services Disaster Agency director, the search and rescue efforts resumed after 3 p.m. when McCracken County DES arrived back on the scene with its boat.
A statement was released from Hunter Sand and Gravel stating one of its crewmembers had fallen overboard.
The company also said it is working closely with the United States Coast Guard and Mine Safety Health Administration to try and determine what caused the accident.
