Mr. Brasher was a retired automobile mechanic and welder. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Metropolis and the American Legion Post 306.
Mr. Brasher served in the Army National Guard and Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Brasher of Metropolis; two daughters, Kathy Brasher of Fullerton, Calif. and Karen Delhousaye of Billings, Mont.; one son, Brian Keith Brasher of Garden Grove, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Gina Eckert and Deedy Silva, both of Palm Coast, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Amanda Churches, Alice Eckert, Ian Eckert and Kevin Silva, all of Palm Coast, Alexis Delhousaye and Montana Delhousaye, both of Billings, and Drew Brasher of Anaheim, Calif.; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Bonnie Osterhoff of Anaheim; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Dorothy Keef Brasher; one sister, Helen Korte; and three brothers, Buck Gurley, Charlie Gurley and Leroy Brasher.
Memorial service was held Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Coram officiating. Burial followed at Antioch Cemetery in Rosebud, with military rites conducted.
