Shirley Kerr, 75, of Paducah, formerly of Metropolis, passed away at 4:45 p.m., Monday, Jan., 6, 2014 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Paducah.

Mrs. Kerr was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Metropolis, where she was a choir member. She was a retired dietary worker from Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis and was a past employee of Good Luck Glove Co. in Metropolis.

Mrs. Kerr was active in the Massac County March of Dimes organization and, for several years in a row, she was recognized for raising the most amount of money for that charity.

She also received a Superman of Metropolis award.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammie Kerr of Paducah; and one aunt, Virginia McCreary and husband Allen of Zion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Amanda Rottmann Werner.

Funeral service was held Thursday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Terry Cathey officiating.

Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
