JR Malone, 96, of Metropolis, formerly of Lovelaceville, Ky., died Monday, Jan., 6, 2014 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.

Mr. Malone was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church of Paducah. A retired auto mechanic, he worked for Farrington Motors and Taylor-Wilson Chevrolet Cadillac in Paducah as well as owning his own garage in Lovelaceville.

Mr. Malone was member of Masonic Lodge 449, The Grand Lodge of Kentucky, Scottish Rite, Sword of Bunker Hill, American Legion Post 31 and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He was a United States Army World War II veteran, having served in the European-African-Middle Eastern and the South Pacific Theater.

Survivors include his daughter, Jerry Lee Oliver and husband Charles of Metropolis; and one granddaughter, Rae Oliver of Alexandria Va. and fiancé Christopher Davis of Rockville, Md.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Nell Franklin Malone; and his parents Blaine and Bernice Ruell Menser Malone.

Funeral service was held Friday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jon Cockrel officiating. Burial followed at Lovelaceville Cemetery.
