Work on the exterior at Big John began Tuesday afternoon. Owner Mike Pool said the business has started on what will end up being a major renovation, that will begin with the exterior and then move inside. Pool said the last major remodel to the store was about 20 years ago. He hopes the project will be complete before Memorial Day. Pool also said once the remodeling is complete shoppers “won’t recognize the store.” According to Pool, the last major change of grocery items happened about 13 years ago. He also noted that customers will not have to worry about construction interfering with their grocery lists, as much of the work will be done at night.
