Fay Kimmins was one of several speakers during the annual Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. program hosted Monday by the Youth Department of First Missionary Baptist Church in Metropolis. While the church’s pastor, Rev. Dr. Orlando McReynolds, was the evening’s key note speaker, the evening also included remarks Reflecting on Dr. King’s Dream, with Kimmins reflecting on the past, Andre Meadows reflecting on the present and Mia Davis reflecting on the future. Prior to her selection of The Hoppers’ New Jerusalem, Beth Clanahan reflected that King would probably like to be known for his faith as much as his work in civil rights. This year’s theme was Dreams Can Come True.
