Harley L. “Bub” Story, 83, of Joppa, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Lovelace officiating.

Mr. Story was a charter member of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at the Coal Shaker Station and retired from Trunk Line Gas as a pipeline welder after 27 years of service.

Harley had his own welding shop in his home, and he loved to fish on the Ohio River,

Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Story; his daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Lovelace and husband Ken and Cindy Oliver and husband Lindel; 28 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry and Deloris Story and Frank and Mary Jane King; two sisters, Lulabell Becker and Dorothy Lewis; one half brother, Pete Story and wife Barbara; three half sisters, Debbie Saylors and husband James, Irene Freeman and Peggy Vaughn; two stepbrothers, Jim and Pearl King and Bob and Sharon King; one stepsister, Ethel Harvel; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Storm Story; one son, Harley L. “Speedy” Story Jr.; three great-grandchildren; three brothers; his father, Henry Story; and his mother, Grace Ford King.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday.
