Jack Spurlock, 77, of Carterville, formerly of Karnak, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Mr. Spurlock retired as an independent insurance claims adjuster. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carterville and a member of the Egyptian Antique Car Club.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Heisner Spurlock of Carterville; one son, Jim Spurlock and wife Vickie of Carterville; two grandsons, William Pinkston of Energy and Mathew Pinkston of Marion; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Pinkston of Carterville; and one great-grandson, Aaron Pinkston of Carterville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Clifton and Dorothy George Spurlock.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with Rev. Steve Heisner and Rev. Alan Milligan officiating. Burial followed at the Masonic Cemetery in Cypress.
