Following a good win over Harrisburg on the road, Massac County’s Patriots posted another solid effort with a home court rout of Benton Saturday night.

The 64-41 win was decided within five minutes of the opening tap.

An active defense frustrated the Rangers and Massac’s Austin Kendall, Jalen Roundtree and Dalton Mitchell combined for 15 of Massac’s 20 first quarter points. At least for most of the first quarter, Roundtree’s sticky presence kept Benton’s potent Nathaniel Higgins corralled, and the Pats slipped away to the big lead.
