Marvin Ray Bradley, 48, of Metropolis, passed away at 2:54 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Marvin was born to his parents, Jesse and Pearley Bradley, in Chicago, on March 11, 1965. He graduated from high school in Joppa in 1983. He married Darla Grothman on Sept. 16, 1989.

Marvin worked as a fork lift operator at various businesses in Paducah and most recently as a shipping and receiving manager at Vasco.

He was a member of the Metropolis congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Marvin enjoyed sharing his faith with others. He also enjoyed many outdoor activities. He had a kind heart and loved to make people smile.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Darla Bradley of Metropolis; his mother, Pearley Bradley of Metropolis; three brothers, Wendell and wife Jane of Joppa, Roger of Illinois and Carl and wife Heather of Unionville; two sisters, Gwen Bradley of St. Louis, Mo. and Marla Pass and husband Leroy of Metropolis; two nieces, Diamond and Symone Pass of Metropolis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Bradley in 1984.

Memorial service was held Tuesday at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Bro. Joe Curlee officiating.
