After a hot shooting night on Tuesday, March 4, against first round regional foe Herrin, Massac County suffered some abysmal shooting stretches in Wednesday night’s semi-final match against Carbondale in the Herrin regional.

Those cold stretches resulted in a season ending 75-49 loss to the Terriers.

After an outstanding first eight minutes that saw the Pats grab a 25-24 first quarter lead, the Patriots went ice cold in the second quarter and fell into a hole they just couldn’t get out of. Dalton Mitchell poured in 15 first quarter points, and the Pats looked to be in pretty good shape after one period of play, but it would be almost seven minutes later before Austin Kendall broke the scoreless drought with a pair of free throws.
