Thomas Waynick 97, of Brookport, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.

Mr. Waynick was of the Baptist faith and was a World War II Army veteran. He was also the oldest member of Local 184 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union.

Survivors include one daughter, Dolores Reynolds and husband Herb of Brookport; one granddaughter, Angie Kennedy of Brookport; three great-grandsons, Bradley Kennedy, David T. Kennedy and Aaron Kennedy, all of Brookport; two sisters, Alice Roeder of Florence, Ky. and Ruby Joyce Mink of Frankfort, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brown and Eula Waynick; his wife of 44 years, Alyne Babb Waynick; one brother; and seven sisters.

Graveside service was held Tuesday at Pell Cemetery in Brookport with Rev. Larry Call officiating.
