For the past few years, Massac County High School softball coach Pat Clark hasn’t seen a losing streak and had kind of forgotten how frustrating it can be.

But with a lineup that is struggling to score runs and without the monumental presence of Kaylee Childers in the circle, Clark’s Lady Patriots are having growing pains.

Baseball, and its female counterpart-softball, is a game of streaks, and for the first time in a long time, the girls are struggling.

This past week was indicative of the hard times that have befallen the Lady Patriots.
