Like most of their Patriots’ spring sports counterparts, Massac County High School’s Lady Patriots soccer team is encountering a rough patch in the schedule.

With wins over Herrin and Mt. Vernon and a 2-6-1 overall record, the ladies have lost painful decisions to an always tough Harrisburg — 2-1 with Harrisburg scoring the winning goal with 20 seconds on the clock — and an equally as tough Sikeston team.

The 3-2 loss to Sikeston was rough-and-tumble and back-and-forth for the duration.

Losses to Saxony Lutheran and Marion were a little more one-sided with Saxony winning 7-0 and Marion taking a 5-1 decision.

The Lady Patriots hope to right the ship with games against Anna-Jonesboro, Kelly High and Sikeston this week. Kelly and Sikeston are both at home.
