Brett Decker, 21, of Paducah, passed away Monday morning, June 9, 2014 at Lourdes hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Park Avenue Baptist Church in Paducah with Rev. Bill Coffman officiating. Burial will follow at Azotus Cemetery in Pope County.

Brett was born on Nov. 19, 1992 in Jacksonville, Fla. to Anthony “Tony” and Denna Elizabeth Walter Decker.

He was a 2011 graduate of Pope County High School in Golconda and had been employed at Federal Materials in Paducah.

Brett and his fiancée Emily had October wedding plans. Brett loved spending time with friends and family, especially his little sister, Amber, and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

Brett attended Park Avenue Baptist Church where he shared his loved for God. Brett will be greatly missed by family and loved ones.

Brett is survived by his parents, Tony and Denna Decker of Hamletsburg; his fiancée, Emily Hubbs of Paducah; one sister, Amber Elizabeth Decker of Hamletsburg; his grandmother, Juanita Decker of Melber, Ky.; his aunts, Beverly Robbins and husband Wayne of Metropolis and Cindy Curtis of Paducah; his uncle, Darrell Walter of Tunnell Hill; and many other cousins, relatives, friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Eugene and Wanda “MaMa” Walter and Ray Decker.

Visitation will be held at the Park Avenue Baptist Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home of Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
