The 2014 Massac County High School Patriot Basketball Camp was held earlier this month.

Incoming second- through ninth-graders were instructed on the fundamentals of offense and defense, along with offensive and defensive team play.

Awards were given on the last day of camp. Recipients were:

• Second grade: Broden Jennings, first places in free throws and one-on-one; Kristopher Garnett, first in hot shot and second in one-on-one; Zach Maurer, second in free throws; and Zach Krueger, second in hot shot.

• Third grade: Isaac Hosman, first places in free throws, one-on-one and hot shot; Luke Maurer, second place in free throws and hot shot; and Caleb Pansing, second place in one-on-one.

• Fourth grade: Carson Purvis, first places in free throws and one-on-one and second place in hot shot; and Brody Smallman, first place in hot shot and second places in free throws and one-on-one.

• Fifth grade: Reece Farmer, first place in free throws and second place in one-on-one; Connor Winnons, first place in one-on-one and second places in free throws and hot shot; and Isaac Burnett, first place in hot shot.

• Sixth grade: Eli Henry, first places in free throws and hot shot; J.J. Sweatt, first place in one-on-one; Emilio Bautista, second place in free throws; Bradley Harris, second place in one-on-one; and Josh Cherry, second place in hot shot.

• Seventh grade: Grant Eckstein, first place in free throws; Jose Mizell, first place in one-on-one; Zachary Travis, first place in hot shot and second place in one-on-one; Austin Summers, second place in free throws; and Noah Matesvoc, second place in hot shot.

• Eighth grade: Ben Bowlin, first place in free throws; Matthew Yates, first place in one-on-one and second place in free throws; Noah Holland, first place in hot shot; Hayden Lee, second place in one-on-one; and Layton Reinwald, second place in hot shot.

• Ninth grade: Nick Bell, first place in free throws; Kaleb Cox, first place in one-on-one; Mason Corzine, first place in hot shot; Quinton Travis, second place in free throws; Cade Burgess, second place in one-on-one; and Eli Windhorst, second place in hot shot.

Hustle awards were given to Britton Towery, second- through fifth-grade; and Cade Burgess, sixth- through ninth-grade.
