McClure, who grew up in Clinton, Ky. and attended Hickman County High School, has an affinity for small schools, and it shows. He and some of his players emphasized basic things like rotations and positioning to the 16 to 18 girls who showed up for the three-day camp.
Mother Nature was a little more cooperative this year than last as the heat was a little more bearable. With a non-air conditioned gym, the coaches and the players all had to be careful last year.
“There’s some talent here, and a couple of these girls have shown an interest in coming down to Martin for one of our regular camps,” McClure said.
Playing against the small school schedule that Joppa does, last year’s team was pretty competitive and this fall’s edition promises to be better.
