Erma Lora Corzine, 92, of Metropolis, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Metropolis.

Born in the Big Bay community, Mrs. Corzine was a member of Zion United Church of Christ where she was confirmed at an early age. She was a member of Eastern Star Banner Chapter 614 of Ganntown, where she was three times Worthy Matron and past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a retired bank teller at City National Bank of Metropolis and was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club.

Mrs. Corzine is survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sophia Foss Brenningmeyer; her husband, James “Tiny” Corzine; six sisters, Mabel Livingston, Aline Cummins, Alvena Hausman and three infant sisters; and four brothers, Noah, Louie, William and Henry Brenningmeyer.

Funeral service was held Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ with Dr. James Nelson and Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial followed at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
