Boy Scout paper drive is set
Boy Scout Troop 101 will hold its regular paper drive on Saturday. Metropolis residents are asked to leave newspapers only bagged or tied in front of their homes by 9 a.m. Magazines will not be collected. The route will also include Fairmount, Airport Road to Country Club Road and North Avenue. The Scouts no longer pick up papers at the Round Knob Store. Joppa residents may leave papers at Joppa City Hall Friday before 2 p.m.
Church to host fish fry
St. Paul Catholic Church will hold a Lenten fish fry on Friday, March 27, from 5-7 p.m. at the parish hall, located at 2020 Ill. 146E in Vienna. The menu will consist of all-you-can-eat fish, French fries, coleslaw, dessert and drink. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children with children under 3 eating for free Grilled cheese sandwich and fries can be substituted for the fish meal for $4. Carry-outs will be available. Seminar to be held
Faith Lutheran and St. John Lutheran churches are hosting a Walk Thru the Bible Old Testament seminar on Sunday, March 29 from 3-6 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 3464 Old Marion Rd, one and a half miles north of Massac County High School. There is a $15 per person registration fee, which can be sent to Faith Lutheran Church. The cost covers the seminar booklet and a meal following the seminar. Adults and children ages third grade and up are encouraged to attend to learn more about the Bible. Childcare will be available for those with younger children.
