Massac County Historical Society TO meet Monday

Massac County Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the Elijah P. Curtis Home, 405 Market St., Metropolis. The George W. May Award for an Outstanding History Student in Massac County will be presented. Following the business meeting, everyone is invited to share memories on “How I Spent Saturday Night.” This informal discussion is open to all, and is not really limited to Saturday night. All reminiscences of what was done for fun, at home or in town, in the last century or this one, are welcome. The public is invited to attend and share memories.

Super Car Show slated for June 13

Get those classic vehicles ready for the 35th annual Super Car Show. The event, sponsopred by the Metropolis Rotary Club, will be Sunday, June 13, at Fort Massac State Park. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with registration from 8 a.m. to noon, with judging at 11 a.m. and the trophy presentation at 3:30 p.m. The event showcases antique cars, trucks and street rods from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and up to the latest models.
