Johnson County high achieving academic students received recognition from parents, area businesses, churches, individuals, organizations and county school administrators at the annual Johnson County Top Flight event. Numerous students from Buncombe, Cypress, New Simpson Hill, Vienna Grade School, Vienna High School, Goreville Grade School and Goreville High School were honored. Joe Nighswander was also recognized for his many years of service to students and families in the county as he retires from being New Simpson Hill superintendent at the end of this school year. The ceremony was held at the end of April.
