And summer begins!
Metropolis residents took advantage of the holiday weekend and free admission when the Metropolis City Pool opened for the season on Memorial Day. Around 500 residents of all ages registered on Monday, May 30. Along with free admission, the opening day bash included hot dogs, chips and drinks provided at no charge by the Metropolis police and fire departments. The pool is open from noon until 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sundays. The entry fee is $1.50 per person with ages 5 and under free. The pool is located at 312 E. Fourth St.
