The second annual Autumn Senior Expo has been set for Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna.
This year's free event plans to expand upon the variety of vendors and the number of free services made available to seniors throughout southern Illinois.
"The vendors we have chosen are appropriate for older adults who function well on their own, all the way to those who need the highest levels of assistance," explained Mallory Hartman, organizer. "Whether it's a medical issue, estate planning or even simply recreation, if it's of interest to seniors, it's likely represented at Autumn Senior Expo."
Adjacent to the vendors in the main hall, individual classrooms will provide a number of free classes and services:
• Mini Facials
• Chair Yoga Classes
• Essential Oil
• Satin Hands
• Canvas Painting
• Assorted Card
• And, Tech Support
Marsha Griffin, community outreach liaison for the Illinois Attorney General's Office, is slated as the keynote speaker and will be presenting tips for seniors to avoid recent scams and prevent identity theft.
There will be a variety of door prizes as well as vendors giving away items throughout the day.
"This event is not just for seniors," emphasized Hartman. "Individuals of all age groups are welcome at the Autumn Senior Expo. Most of us either are or will eventually be the caregiver for a senior loved one. This event is free to anyone who wants to learn more about how to help their friends, family and beloved community members improve their quality of life and reach their full potential."
