Metropolis’ Lutheran Church of the Cross hosted a chili supper benefit in March. Half of the proceeds went to Guardian Family Services (GFS), while the other half went to Metropolis resident David Hannon to assist with medical expenses. Rev. David Deem, left, and Bob Midnight, right, chili supper benefit coordinator, are shown presenting a $1250 check to Rita Gower, GFS director.
