The region woke up Saturday morning, Nov. 12, to more than the predicted dusting of snow. A total of two to three inches was reported throughout the region for the season’s first snowfall. While much of it was gone Sunday afternoon, there were still some remnants Monday in areas that receive less sunlight.

The city’s Christmas Bazaar is coming up next Saturday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Harry Statham Gym. There is still time for crafters and vendors to sign up for a space; notify city hall at 618-564-2351 or Debbie Workman. Come out and enjoy shopping. Ham and beans will be served at the concession stand starting at 11 a.m.

Since the fourth Thursday of the month is Thanksgiving, there will be no food distribution from the Brookport COPE food pantry. Monthly allotments can still be picked up at the Metropolis site, however.
